Biswajit Karmakar, born in Tamakhun, a small village in Purulia District of West Bengal. He earned his B.Sc. in Agriculture from Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University in 2016, followed by an M.Sc. in Horticulture with a specialization in Post-Harvest Technology from Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (BCKV). In 2024, he submitted his Ph.D. in Horticulture with a focus on Post-Harvest Technology, also from BCKV. His primary research focuses on developing and implementing advanced post-harvest handling, storage and processing techniques aimed at minimizing losses and enhancing value addition in horticultural produce. He has published numerous research papers, popular articles and book chapters in reputed journals. Currently, he is serving as a Research Assistant in the ICARAICRP on Tuber Crops at Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalaya. Mr. Karmakar possesses extensive laboratory and field-based research experience, with significant contributions to farmer training programs, FPOs and SHGs.

He holds a master’s degree in Floriculture and Landscaping from UUHF Bharsar Campus, where he achieved NET qualification in 2017, and completed his undergraduate studies at Dr. YSR Horticultural University in 2015. His academic journey is marked by a prolific contribution to the field, including the publication of research articles, popular science pieces, local-language publications, and comprehensive review articles. He worked as an Asst. Professor for three years under Dr. YSR Horticultural University. Currently, Dr. P. Chakradhar serves as a Senior Horticulturist at Sri City Pvt. Ltd., located near Tirupati. Kiran Hiralal Rathod

Kiran Hiralal Rathod, Ph.D. (Horticulture) in Fruit Science, is a Senior Research Fellow at PPV&FRA, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare. Specializing in Fruit Science, his research spans acid lime and advanced pre-harvest practices in litchi. A three-time ICAR-ASRB NET qualifier and recipient of ICAR’s Junior and Senior Research Fellowships, he has authored several publications and book chapters on topics like passion fruit, dragon fruit, plant hormones, bio- regulators, and molecular and physiological aspects of stock-scion compatibility in grafting. Recognized for academic excellence, Dr. Rathod has edited the books Basic Concepts of Horticulture and Flourishing Fields: New Frontiers in Horticultural Science.
