About the Book

Insects play a crucial role in ecosystems, agriculture, and biotechnology, serving as pollinators, pest species, vectors of diseases, and valuable genetic models. Over the years, advancements in genetics and biotechnology have revolutionized our understanding of insect biology, offering novel approaches to pest control, disease management, and bioengineering. This book, Insect Genetics and Biotechnology, delves into the intricate world of insect genetic mechanisms, their applications in biotechnology, and the transformative potential of modern genetic tools. The book is structured to provide a comprehensive overview, from fundamental genetic principles to cutting-edge biotechnological applications. It explores topics such as insect genomics, genetic engineering, CRISPR-based modifications, insect-borne disease control strategies, and the role of transgenic insects in sustainable agriculture. Additionally, it highlights recent research findings and future prospects in insect biotechnology. This book is intended for researchers, students, and professionals in entomology, molecular biology, biotechnology, and agricultural sciences. It aims to bridge the gap between classical insect genetics and modern genomic advancements, providing insights into how these innovations can be harnessed for practical applications.
