About the Book

In recent decades, the field of plant breeding has witnessed an extraordinary transformation, driven by groundbreaking advances in molecular genetics and genomics. The ever-growing challenges of food security, climate change, and environmental stressors necessitate innovative approaches to crop improvement. To this end, Molecular Genetics and Breeding of Plants: From DNA to Crop Improvements serves as a comprehensive resource, shedding light on the latest developments in plant molecular genetics, breeding strategies, and cutting-edge biotechnological interventions.
This book brings together contributions from a diverse group of experts and researchers who are at the forefront of plant breeding, genetics, and biotechnology. Each chapter presents insights into various facets of plant molecular genetics, from genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and DNA replication mechanisms to advances in RNA biology and plant transformation methods. The emphasis on modern techniques such as next-generation sequencing (NGS), CRISPR-Cas systems, and genomic selection makes this book a valuable reference for those engaged in plant science research, breeding, and agricultural innovations
